A Moment – embraced

A moment

         In total embrace

Is a lifetime

         Fully lived

Frank LLoyd Wright – A Thought

“If you foolishly ignore beauty,

you’ll soon find yourself without it.

Your life will be impoverished.

But if you wisely invest in beauty,

it will remain with you all the days of your life.”

Frank Lloyd Wright

Now follows beauty- – – –  natural and created.

What “voice” does you mind speak from the words of Frank Lloyd Wright?

Yosemite Valley

Claude Monet

Nude Female – private garden

Bee on Daisy

Monet – Water Lilies

Gardens at Waters East

Edvard Munch – The Scream

The above are samples of beauty, some liked by some, others liked by others.

Worth a Thousand Words #6

It is often said that- – –

“a picture is worth a thousand words”.

This series will be postings of a single picture.

May you find that the following photo “speaks” volumes and makes your mind travel deep within.

See & Listen

Sunrise – a new day

REFLECTION:

This photo is a sunrise over the lake.  It is early morning.  It is a new day.

What words does this photo “speak” to you?

About you?    About how you live?    About how you spend your time?

About your past hopes & dreams?    About your plans for the future?

About the beauty you have experienced,

and the beauty you want to experience – in your life?

What are you doing to make all of that happen?

Be Still – – – and Know

The Third Age – a poem by OTL

The Third Age

Birth through formal education

Professional life to retirement

Then What?

            The Third Age

Now What?

All this time ahead –

for who knows how long – maybe many years.

Sit around and rot in front of TV,

Rock in a chair, counting cars going by on the street,

Surf the web – mindlessly,

On and on – achieving nothing.

Just existing,  existing,  existing.

Using up what hours are left – before the final breath.

What a waste of life!

Dull,

Boring,

Not enriching

Not life-giving

Dull

     And more – – Dull.

So ends the life of so many.

     “Over and Out”

Dead and nothing more.

Not much of a legacy for your Third Age.

Birth to death

     Your chance to be you.

     There is no other.

How will it end with you?

     Blossoming till the last day,

Or shriveled in brain and spirit?

Wasted or celebrated.

That is – celebrated by you.

You are the one that counts.

You make the choices.

You make it a life.

You have the Power.

You make the final years fully alive;

     Or – meaningless,

Or – standing still treading water,

     Or – dead.

Wasted.

How depressing to end on such a note!

 Be Still – – – and Know
